Changes to Chase

  • Cannot apply and get bonus for any Sapphire Cards if you previously held a Sapphire Card for less than 48 months: [Hat Tip: US Credit Card Guide]
  • Cannot have two Sapphire Cards at one time
  • 5/24 is now enforced across all Sapphire Cards
  • Introduction of new Chase Marriott Credit Cards



Changes to American Express

  • Premier Rewards Credit Card is showing some future changes for some:
    • The new benefits are expected to be rolled out on or near October 4th 2018:
    • 4X at US Restaurants
    • 4x at US Supermarkets on up to $25K per calendar year in purchases (then 1x)
    • 3x flights booked directly with airlines or on Amextravel.com
    • No more 2X gas at US gas stations
    • $120 dining credit: $10 per month credit for spend at GrubHub, Seamless, The Cheesecake Factory, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, and Participating Shake Shack locations
    • The annual fee will remain the same ($195)
    • The card will retain its $100 airline fee credit.
    • The card will be renamed to “American Express Gold Card”
    • The new welcome bonus will be 25K points after $2K in spend plus 20% back as a statement credit on purchases at U.S. Restaurants, up to $100 back
  • Some are able to apply for more than 5 revolving credit card lines, which was usually the max on American Express
  • $100 credit each year for Saks Fifth Avenue for the personal Platinum Card

Travel has been at the center of Brian's life, start as a young child. Summer trips were a hallmark of exploration; Brian's desire to see the world began to develop. Brian has traveled to over 20 countries within the last 2 years, working towards the 30 countries by 30 years old.

Through all of his travels, the power of cards and points has fueled his ability to travel freely. Brian now conducts seminars, workshops, and can be found speaking to the public in order to help share techniques and tips on how others can take advantage of these resources.

Outside of Brian's travel interest, Brian is the Executive Director of the BLF Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering annual scholarships and a year long mentorship for college students, developing emotional intelligence, and soft skills. Brian is also the CEO/Co-Founder of Elevation Firm, a Creative Agency that helps develop brands, and improve advertising and marketing strategies for countless businesses.
